Bouilly

Bouilly (spr. Bullji), Jean Nicolas), geb. 1761 (1763) in Boudray bei Tours; war Advocat beim Parlament in Paris, verließ diese Stelle, als das Parlament nach Troyes kam, ward in seiner Vaterstadt angestellt, trat später wieder in den Privatstand u. st. in Paris 1842. Er machte sich um die Einführung der Primärschulen in Frankreich verdient. Er dichtete die Lustspiele u. Operetten: Pierre le Grand, L'abbé de l'epée (deutsch von Kotzebue, Lpz. 1800); Madame de Sevigné (deutsch von Issland, Berl. 1809); Une folie (deutsch von Griesheim, Magdeb. 1806); Les deux péres (deutsch von Th. Hell, Lpz. 1808); das Vaudeville: Fanchon, 1803 (deutsch von Kotzebue, Lpz. 1805), u.a. Für die Jugend schrieb er seine weit verbreiteten oft aufgelegten: Contes offerts aux enfans de France, Par. 1809, 2 Bde., u. Conseils à ma fille, ebd. 1811, u. oft in Deutschland herausgegeben u. ins Deutsche übersetzt; Les jeunes femmes, deutsch Lpz. 1829, 2 Bde.
