Britomaris, ein Häuptling der Sennonischen Gallier; sein Vater war von den Römern getödtet worden, u. um dafür an den Römern Rache zu nehmen, ließ B. 283 v. Chr. die an ihn geschickten römischen Gesandten ermorden u. ihre Körper zerhacken u. umherstreuen Zur Strafe dafür ließ ihn später der Consul Dolabella, in dessen Hände er gekommen war, zu Tode martern.
