Constantĭa (a. Geogr.), 1) der Hafen von Gaza; 2) späterer Name der Stadt Salamis auf Cypern; 3) so v. w. Antoninupolis; 4) so v. w. Antarados; 5) bei den Alten Constanz; 6) (n. Geogr.), Hauptort eines gleichnamigen Bezirks in dem britischen Capdistricte (Afrika), südlich von der Capstadt, berühmt durch den Constantiawein, der nur in 3 Weinbergen wächst: Hoch-C. (Van-Reenen), Groß-C. (Cloete), Klein-C. (Coligne). Die Weinbauer sind reiche Leute u. besitzen elegante u. bequem eingerichtete Häuser, von Weinbergen u. Gärten umgeben; 14,000 Ew.; 7) Villa im ostindischen District Lucknow.
