Coustou (spr. Kustu), 1) Nicolas, geb. 1658 in Lyon, Bildhauer, st. 1733 in Paris; von ihm u.a. die Kreuzabnahme in Nôtre-Dame u. die Gruppe der Tritonen bei der Cascade in Versailles. 2) Guillaume, Bruder des Vorigen, geb. 1678 in Lyon, Maler u. Bildhauer, st. 1746 in Paris. Unter seinen vielen Werken: das Grabmal des Cardinals du Bois in St. Honoré, 2 Pferdegruppen (jetzt an den Elysäischen Feldern) u. Christus im Tempel (zu Versailles). 3) Guillaume, Sohn des Vorigen, geb. 1716 in Paris, st. 1777. Von ihm das Grabmal der Eltern Ludwigs XVI. u. die Statue des Mars u. der Venus für Friedrich den Großen.
