Nollet (spr. Nollä), Johann Anton, geb. 1700 in Pimpre; er war in Frankreich der erste, welcher Experimentalphysik durch seine Vorlesungen in Paris 1733 in Aufnahme brachte; errichtete 1739 einen Lehrstuhl der Experimentalphysik in Turin, bekleidete später mehre ähnliche Lehrerstellen u. st. 1770. Er schr.: Leçons de physique expérimentale; Par. 1748, 5 Bde., u. Aufl. ebd. 1759, 6 Bde.[19] (deutsch, Erf. 1748–72, 9 Bde.); Recueil de lettres sur l'électricité, Par. 1753–54, 3 Bde.; L'art des expériences, ebd. 1770, 3 Bde., n.A. 1777 (deutsch, Lpz. 1771).
