Gallŏway (spr. Galloweh), Heinrich Marquis von Rumigny, Graf von G., geb. 1647, Generalagent des protestantischen Adels in Frankreich zur Zeit des Widerrufs des Edicts von Nantes; ging nach England u. nahm, naturalisirt, den Titel eines Grafen von G. an, wurde Obrist eines Reiterregiments französischer Flüchtlinge u. erhielt später 1696 vom König Wilhelm III. als Generalmajor den Oberbefehl über die englischen Truppen in Piemont. Die Königin Anna sandte ihn beim Ausbruch des Spanischen Successionskriegs als Generalissimus nach Portugal, wo er 1704 das Commando an Stelle des Marschalls von Schomberg übernahm. Er befehligte nun die 1704 u. 1705 ziemlich unthätig zwischen den Festungen an der portugiesischen Grenze herum manövrirende englische Armee u. wurde 1705 vor Badajoz verwundet. In der Schlacht bei Almanza 1707 u. bei Gudino 1709 geschlagen, wurde er nach England zurückberufen, verlor die Stelle eines Vicekönigs von Irland, wurde jedoch später Lordoberrichter von Irland u. st. 1720.
