Gozlan (spr. Goslang), Leon, geb. 1806 in Marseille, machte 1824 eine Reise nach Afrika u. trat 1828 in Paris als Commis in eine Handlung, widmete sich jedoch nach kurzer Zeitganz literarischen Beschäftigungen; er schr. die Romane u. Novellen: Le notaire de Chantilly, 1836; Washington le Vert et Socrate le Blanc, 1837; Le médecin du Pecq, 1839; Une nuit blanche, 1810; La dernière soeur grise, 1842; Les Méandres (Sammlung von Erzählungen u. Novellen), 1842; Le dragon rouge, 1843; Aristide Froissart, 1844; das historische Werk: Les tourelles, 1839; die Dramen: La main droite et la main gauche, 1842; Eve, 1843; Notre Dame des Abimes, 1845 u.a.; Le livre noir, 1848; auch mehrere Vaudevilles.
