Jurist (v. lat.), 1) Rechtsbeflissener; 2) Rechtskundiger. Daher Juristenrecht (Recht der Wissenschaft, Recht der Praxis), die Rechtssätze, welche bes. durch die wissenschaftliche Thätigkeit der Rechtsgelehrten ausgebildet worden sind u. zu einer Rechtsquelle werden, wodurch dieselbe ein neues Recht producirt.
