Lauder (spr. Lahder), 1) Fluß in der schottischen Grafschaft Berwick, das Thalgebiet desselben (Lauderdale) hat der alten schottischen Familie Maitland von Thirlestane u. Leithjuglon den Grafen- u. Herzogstitel gegeben; 2) Flecken daselbst, am L. gelegen; altes Schloß Thirlestane, von Eduard I. gebaut, Residenz u. Stammschloß der Grafen von Lauderdale; 1500 Ew.
