Phlox (P. L., Flammenblume, Feuerpustel), Pflanzengattung aus der Familie der Polemoniaceae, 5. Kl. 1. Ordn. L.; Arten: P. carolina, mit dunkelpurpurrothen, P. divaricata, mit blaßblauen, P. glaberrima, mit blaßpurpurröthlichen, P. paniculata, mit violetten, wohlriechenden, P. suaveolens, mit weißen, wohlriechenden, P. speciosa, mit weißen, in der Mitte rothen, wie bei allen, in Doldentrauben stehenden Blüthen; aus Nordamerika; Zierpflanzen; P. pyramidalis, aus Nordamerika, davon ist eine schöne Varietät: P. Ninon del' Enclos, mit hohen Stängeln, zahlreichen Straußdolden mit lilarosenrothen Blumen, welche einen weißen Saum u. purpurrothen Schlund haben.
