Rank, Joseph, geb. 1815 zu Friedrichsthal bei Neumark im Böhmerwalde, studirte in Wien die Rechte, widmete sich aber bald ganz der Literatur; 1848 in das Frankfurter Parlament gewählt, hielt er sich zur gemäßigten Linken; seit December 1854 lebte er in Weimar u. siedelte 1859 nach Nürnberg über.
