Responsoria

Responsoria (lat.), 1) die Gesänge, wobei der Chor dem Geistlichen als Liturgen antwortet; 2) der Gesang des Chors nach den von dem Geistlichen vorgetragenen Lectionen. Die R. nach der Epistel in der Messe heißen Graduale (Staffelgesang), benannt von den Stufen, worauf die Sänger früher standen. Responsoriale (Responsonarium), das Buch, welches die R. enthält, s. Antiphonarium.
