Menses (lat., Mehrzahl von Mensis), 1) Monate; so M. papāles, päpstliche Monate, das Recht des Papstes Beneficien zu besetzen, welche in bestimmten Monaten zur Erledigung kommen, im Gegensatz zu: M. episcopāles u. regĭi, wo Bischöfe u. weltliche Fürsten die vacanten Stellen besetzen; 2) so v.w. Menstruation.
