Spleen

Spleen (engl., spr. Splihn, v. lat. Splen, die Milz), die Milzsucht, eine besondere Art der Hypochondrie, welche in Küstenländern mit starken, häufigen Nebeln, vorzugsweise in England, herrscht, deren höchster Grad ein oft zum Selbstmord führender Lebensüberdruß ist; vgl. Geisteskrankheiten B) e).
