Staccāto

Staccāto (ital., abbrevirt Stac.), so v.w. abgestoßen; zeigt an, daß die Noten unter od. über welche es gesetzt wird, kurz abgestoßen werden sollen, z.B.:

Man nimmt im Allgemeinen an, daß die mit S. bezeichneten Noten die Hälfte ihrer Dauer dadurch verlieren. Da das S. in mehre Modificationen zerfällt, so zeigt man es durch, über die betreffenden Noten gesetzte Striche od. Punkte an, z.B.:

Die dritte Art des S. wird bei Bogeninstrumenten mit einem Bogenstrich, bei Blasinstrumenten mit einem Athemzug vorgetragen.
