Troubridge

Troubridge (spr. Traubridsch), Edward Thomas, trat 1797 in die britische Marine, wurde 1801 Midshipman, focht am 2. April 1802 bei Kopenhagen, wurde 1806 Commander u. 1807 Capitän. Von 1813 bis 1815 commandirte er die Fregatte Armide; während der Operationen gegen New Orleans landete er mit der Marinebrigade u. zeichnete sich mehrfach aus; l835 trat er in die Admiralität, erhielt 1841 das Commando des Formidable im Mittelmeere, wurde bald darauf Rearadmiral u. Adjutant der Königin u. starb am 7. Oct. 1852 in London.
