Walton (spr. Ualt'n), 1) Isaak, geb. 1593 in Stafford, Leinwandhändler in London, berühmter Angler; er st. 1683 in Winchester u. schr. das in vielen Auflagen erschienene Buch: The complete angler, or the contemplative man's recreation; Biographien W-s schrieben Sanderson, Hocker, Wotton, Dorne u. Washington Irving. 2) Brayan, geb. 1600 in Sevmour, war Bischof von Chester u. st. 1661; er gab die nach ihm benannte Londoner Polyglotte (Waltonsche Polyglotte) heraus, s. Polyglotte d).
