Whytt Robert, Professor der Medicin in Edinburgh, war ein Anhänger von Stahls System u. st. 1766; er schr.: Essay on the vital and other involuntary motions of animals, Lond. 1751; Physiological essays, Edinb. 1755. Nach ihm ist benannt Whyttii elixir rob orans (W. tinctura chinae, Whyttisches Magenelixir), so v.w. Zusammengesetzte Chinatinctur, s.u. Chinapräparate d) bb).), u. Whyttscher Brand, der trockene Brand der Fußzehen, s. Brand S. 177.
