Zygōma

Zygōma (griech.), 1) Riegel, der die Thürflügel zusammenhaltende Querbalken; 2) (Jochbein), so v.w. Backenbein 1), vgl. Gesichtsknochen C). Daher Zygomatische Löcher (Zygomatocolpi, Foramina zygomatica), s.u. Gesichtsknochen C). Zygomatische Muskeln, so v.w. Jochmuskeln, s.u. Kopfmuskeln I. B). Zygomatische Naht (Sutura zygomatica), die durch das Zusammentreten der Jochfortsätze des Backen- u. Schläfebeins auf der Mitte des Jochbogens gebildete zackige Naht. Zygomatische Nerven (Nervi zygomatici), fünf von dem Gänsefuße ausgehende, auch bes. als Schläfe-, Backen- u. Augenhöhlennerven bezeichnete Nerven, s. Gehirnnerven. Zygomatischer Bogen, so v.w. Jochbogen, s.u. Backenbein 1). Zygomatischer Kanal (Canalis zygomaticus), der durch das Backenbein gehende, dem Backenhautnerven u. einem Zweige der Unteraugenhöhlenarterie zum Durchgange dienende Kanal, s. Gesichtsknochen C).
