Acetabŭlum, 1) (röm. Ant.), becherförmiges Gefäß, worin man Essig auf die Tafel setzte; 2) Becher, welchen die Taschenspieler (Acetabularii) zu ihren Kunststücken brauchten; 3) röm. Maß für Flüssigkeiten = 1/2 Quartarius od. 2 Cyathi: 4) (Anat., Pfanne), tiefe, grubenförmige Gelenkhöhle, besonders die des Hüftgelenkes, s. u. Beckenknochen; 5) (Naturgesch.), becherförmige Vertiefungen u. Erhöhungen; 6) (Zool.), so v.w. Acetabularia; 7) (A. Lamk.), Pflanzengattung aus der nat. Fam. Fadenalgen (Confervaceae), Rchnb.
