Alamanni, Luigi, geb. zu Florenz 1495; weil er sich 1521 in eine Verschwörung gegen den Cardinal Giuliano, Leos X. Statthalter in Florenz, eingelassen hatte, mußte er fliehen u. hielt sich in Venedig u. Paris auf, kehrte 1527 nach Florenz zurück; geächtet ging er nach Frankreich, wo er bei Franz I. u. Heinrich II. in so hohen Ehren stand, daß er zu diplomatischen Sendungen gebraucht wurde; starb zu Amboise 1556. Er schr. u. a.: La coltivazione, Par. 1546, Padua 1714; Avarchide (Epos) in 24 Gesängen (die Belagerung der Stadt Bourges); Girone il Cortese (Epos); Lyrische Gedichte, Lyon 1532, 2 Bde.; Epigrammi toscani, Mondovi 1570; schr. auch ein Schauspiel Flora u. bearbeitete die Antigone des Sophokles.
