Amadīa (Amadieh), 1) District in Kurdistan mit eigenem, vom Pascha von Bagdad abhängigen Fürsten, Handel mit Galläpfeln, Blei, Tabak etc.; 2) Hauptstadt u. Felsenfestung hier, in neuerer Zeit mit türkischer Besatzung, armenischem Kloster; 8000 muhamedanische Ew.
