Argēi (röm. Ant.), 1) mehrere von Numa bestimmte heilige Plätze in Rom, in 27 Theile der Stadt vertheilt, wo im März von den Pontifices gewisse Heroenopfer gebracht wurden; 2) 30 aus Binsen geflochtene Menschenbilder, welcheim Beisein der Vestalinnen, Pontifices u. des Prätor jährlich am 15. Mai von dem Pons sublicius in den Tibris, als symbolische Menschenopfer, dem Fluß zur Sühne der Einwohner, geworfen wurden.
