Athyr

Athyr (Athor, ägypt. Myth.), Tochter des Ra (Sonne), Göttin der 2. Ordnung, dargestellt mit Kuhhaupt u. die Sonne zwischen den Hörnern, auch einen Tempel auf dem Kopfe tragend; daher die Hathorcapitälean späteren ägyptischen Bauwerken. Später galt sie als Göttin der Freude, abgebildet mit Stricken der Liebe u. dem Tambourin, daher von den Griechen mit Aphrodite identificirt. Ihr Haupttempel stand in Denderah. Nach ihr ist der 3. Monat des ägyptischen Jahres, unser November, benannt.
