Nalus, 1) Negervolk auf der Westküste Afrikas, theilweise im Sierra Leonadistrict Guineas, theilweise in Senegambien, zwischen dem Geba u. Nunez wohnend; die N. haben häßliche, rohe Gesichtszüge, platte Nasen, schmutzig bleiche Hautfarbe, gelten aber noch als das intelligenteste von den neben ihnen wohnenden Völkern; sie sind Heiden, erkennen aber ein oberstes Wesen an, dem sie jedoch keine Art von Verehrung erweisen; 2) Fluß in Senegambien, so v.w. Rio grande.
