Boyd (spr. Beud), 1) Robert, schottischer Lord, Sohn von Thomas Boyd de Kilmarnock; wurde von Jakob II. zum Pair u. Lord Kilmarnock ernannt, war nach dessen Tode mit unter der Regentschaft während der Minderjährigkeit Jakobs III., verschaffte auf diesem Posten seinen Verwandten ansehnliche Stellen, ja vermählte sogar seinen Sohn, nachherigen Grafen von Arran, mit der Schwester des jungen Königs. Als dieser majorenn war, befahl er dem Parlament, die Handlungen B-s zu untersuchen, worauf Letzter flüchtig ward u. 1470 zu Alnwick starb 2) Hugo, geb. 1746 in Bally Castle, st. 1794 in Belgien; angeblich Verfasser der Briefe des Junius, s.d.
