Brisson (spr. Brissong), 1) (Brissonius), Barnabas, geb. 1531 in Fontenay le Comte, war unter Heinrich III. Generaladvocat, Staatsrath u. Präsident des Parlaments, dann Gesandter in England, sammelte die Gesetze Heinrichs III. u. seiner Vorgänger (Code de Henri III. 1587, Fol.). Während der Belagerung von Paris durch Heinrich IV. wurde er von den Liguisten, weil er ihnen ihr unregelmäßiges Betragen vorwarf, 1591 ermordet er schr.: De verborum, quae ad jus civile pertinent, significatione, Frankf. 1557, von Heineccius, Halle 1743; De formulis et solemnibus populi rom. verbis, Par. 1583, Fol., Frkf. 1592, u. herausgeg. von Conradi, Halle 1731, u.a.m. 2) Mathurin Jacques, geb. 1723 in Fontenay de Peuple, war Schüler u. Gehülfe Réaumurs u. st. 1806 in Broissy; er schr.: Dictionnaire raisonné de la physique, Par. 1781, 2 Bde., 2.
