Nickel, Marcus Adam, geb. 1800 in Mainz, war 1824–29 Professor an den mit dem Priesterseminar verbundenen geistlichen Schulen daselbst, wurde 1830 Professor der Theologie, 1833 zugleich Dompfarrer, 1835 geistlicher Rath, Mitglied des bischöflichen Ordinariats u. Regens des Seminars. Er schr. außer mehren asketischen Schriften noch: Das römische Pontifical, aus dem Lateinischen, ebd. 1835–37, 3 Bde.; Das Neue Testament, Regensb. 1846 f., 4 Bde.; Die evangelischen Perikopen, exegetisch-homiletisch bearbeitet, Frankf. 1847, 8 Bde.
