Circumflex (v. lat., herumgebeugt), so Circumflexe Arterien (Circumflexae arteriae), Arterien, die in ihrem Laufe um Theile von einigem bedeutenden Umfange sich herumbiegen, bes. Circumflexe Arterie der Hüfte (Circumflexa arteria ilei), Circumflexe Arterien der Mittelhand u. der Finger etc., s. Schenkelarterien u. Handarterien; Circumflexe Venen (Circumflexae venae), Venen, die in ihrem Laufe den gedachten gleichnamigen Arterien entsprechen; 2) (Gramm.), grammatisches Zeichen über[155] gedehnte u. natürlich lange Sylben, s. u. Accent; 3) scherzhaft so v. w. Hieb, Schmarre.
