Commando

Commando (v. lat.), 1) Oberbefehl über eine Truppenabtheilung; 2) das Wort, auf welches ein Handgriff, eine Bewegung etc. vollzogen werden, od. welches als Vorbereitung hierzu dienen soll. Die Commandowörter 1. Klasse bezeichnen den Truppentheil u. daß überhaupt etwas geschehen soll (Avertissements-C.), wie: Regiment, Achtung, Aufmarschirt etc.; die 2. die auszuführende Handlung, wie: Rechts in Colonne, links schwenkt etc.; die 3. den Moment u. die Schnelligkeit der Ausführung, z.B. im Trabe Marsch. Schon bei den Alten stand ein Herold dem Feldherrn zur Seite, der die C. wiederholte; 3) der Inbegriff der zum Stabe eines Heeres gehörigen Personen; 4) zu irgend einem Zweck, z.B. Schanzarbeit, Patrouille, Execution etc. abgeschickte Truppenabtheilung, welche noch nicht die Stärke einer Compagnie erreicht; die abgeschickten heißen Commandirte. Das C. ist ein scharfes, wenn es gegen den Feind geschickt ist; ein melirtes, wenn es aus verschiedenen Truppenabtheilungen zusammengesetzt ist; 5) der von einer solchen Abtheilung auszuführende Dienst selbst; 6) im kaufmännischen Styl so v. w. Auftrag, Befehl.
