Costus (C. L.), Pflanzengattung aus der Familie der Zingiberaceae-Costi. 1. Ord. 1. Kl. L.; Arten: C. Arabidae (C. arabicus Arrab.), in Südamerika; C. specisous, in feuchten Wäldern Ostindiens, mit röthlich-weißen, in eine sehr große elliptische Endähre gesammelten, 21 Zoll langen Blumen; C. spicatus, in Brasilien, Zierpflanze u. m.
