Fasli (Fassily, Fuslee, Fusly, hindoft., d.h. herbstlich, Herbstjahr), der Name einer über das ganze muhammedanische Indien verbreiteten Ara, nach welcher unter Anderem auch die Verordnungen der Behörden datirt werden. Sie wurde von Akbar dem Großen in der Absicht, eine einztge gemeinschaftliche Zeitrechnung für. ganz Indien zu schaffen, eingeführt. Sie beginnt nach. Akbars Bestimmung mit dem Jahre 1555 n. Chr. od. dem Jahre 963 der Hedschra, od. dem Jahre 1612 (1555 + 57) Samvat. Das Ausgangsdatum war der 10. Aswin od. der 10. Septbr. 1555 n. Chr. Addirt man 649 zu einem gegebenen Faslijahr, so erhält man das Jahr Samvat; addirt man aber 592 od. (wenn schon vier Monate des gegebenen Jahres vorüber sind) 593 zu dem gegebenen Faslijahr, so erhält man das christliche Datum. Im Dekan rechnet man abweichend blos 590 zu dem Faslijahr, um das christliche Datum zu erlangen. So ist im eigentlichen Hindostan der 10. Februar 1833 = 1. Phalgun 1889 (1833 + 56) Samvat = 1. Phalgun 1240 (1833–593) Fasli.
