Heft (das H.), 1) mehrere zusammengeheftete Bogen Papier; 2) bei Druckschriften eine Abtheilung, welche brochirt auf einmal ausgegeben wird, u. wovon mehrere einen Band bilden. Diese Bücherform ist gewöhnlich bei Journalen, die entweder zu bestimmten Zeiten, gewöhnlich in Monats-, od. unbestimmt, in zwanglosen Heften, erscheinen, ebenso bei Kupferwerken. In neuerer Zeit sind die Heftausgaben auch bei anderen Werken begonnen worden u. beliebt, da dieselben die Anschaffung theuerer Werke sehr erleichtert. Meyer in Hildburghausen war mit seiner Bibliothek der Klassiker der erste, der solche Heftausgaben einführte. 3) Bei Lehrvorträgen das von Lehrern bearbeitete Manuscript, das denselben zum Grunde liegt, od. auch der Lehrvortrag, von den Zuhörern während desselben niedergeschrieben.
