Inspection

Inspection (v. lat.), 1) das Besichtigen, so Inspectio ocularis, s. Besichtigung; 2) (Med.), Besichtigung eines Kranken, um aus seinem Äußeren auf innere Krankheitszustände zu schließen; 3) die Aufsicht; 4) ein Bezirk od. eine Anzahl von Anstalten, Personen etc., worüber Jemand die Aufsicht hat (Inspector), so eine Anzahl Kirchen u. Prediger, welche ein Oberer beaufsichtigt, eine gewisse Anzahl Schüler, welche ein Lehrer speciell unter sich hat; 5) die Abtheilung einer Compagnie, welche einem Offizier zur speciellen Beaufsichtigung übergeben ist; 6) bei den Jägern so v.w. Corporalschaft; 7) sonst in Preußen ungefähr so v.w. Generalcommando; 8) die Truppentheile od. Gegenstände, welche ein Inspecteur unter sich hat, z.B. Ingenieurinspection, zu deren jeder eine Anzahl Festungsinspectionen u. eine Pionnierinspection gehört.
