Irregulär

Irregulär (v. lat.), so v.w. unregelmäßig, von der gewöhnlichen Regel abweichend. Irreguläre Befestigung, besteht aus Befestigungswerken von ungleicher Gestalt u. Größe. Irreguläre Geistliche, zu keinem bestimmten Orden gehörende Geistliche. Irreguläres Militär, Soldaten, bes. Reiterei, die in Bezug auf Bewaffnung, Bekleidung u. taktische Eintheilung weder unter sich, noch mit anderen Truppen übereinstimmen, z.B. die Kosacken u. ein Theil der ostindischen Reiterei. Irreguläre Verba, s.u. Verbum. Irregularität, der Mangel einer, nach den kanonischen Vorschriften zum Empfange der heiligen Weihen erforderlichen od. das Vorhandensein einer diesen entgegengesetzten Eigenschaft.
