Liutward

Liutward, Bischof von Vercelli, Kanzler des Kaisers Karl des Dicken; wegen ehebrecherischen Umgangs mit der Kaiserin Richardis i. J. 887 vom Hofe gewiesen, ging er nach Baiern zu Karlmanns natürlichem Sohne Arnulf u. bewog diesen, Karl den Dicken zu entthronen. Vor den 901 in Italien einbrechenden Ungarn mit seinen Schätzen fliehend, wurde er von denselben umgebracht.
