Jacksonis Mountain), mit dichten Waldungen bedeckt; Producte: Mais, Weizen, Hafer, Bauholz, Rindvieh; 1788 organisirt u. genannt nach Edmund Pendleton, Congreßmitglied für Virginia; 1850: 5795 Ew., worunter. 322 Sklaven; Hauptort: Franklin; 2) früher District des Staates Süd Carolina in neuerer Zeit in die Districte Anderson u. Pickens (s.d.) getheilt; 3) Grafschaft im Staate Kentucky; 14 QM.; Flüsse: Ohio u. Licking Rivers; große Waldungen; Producte: Mais, Hafer, Tabak, Rindvieh; die Covington-Lexington Eisenbahn durchschneidet die Grafschaft; 1798 organisirt; 1850: 6774 Ew., worunter 509 Sklaven; Hauptort: Fallmouth.
