Ramond

Ramond (spr. Ramong), Louis François Elisabeth Baron von R. de Carbonnieres, geb. im Elsaß, studirte die Rechte, Naturwissenschaften u. Medicin; während der Revolution zwei Jahr lang eingekerkert, wurde er nach seiner Befreiung Professor der Naturgeschichte an der Centralschule in Tarbes u. bestieg von hier aus den Pic du Mid 35mal u. den Mont Perdu. Er wurde Deputirter seines Departements bei der gesetzgebenden Versammlung u. Präfect des Departements Puy de Dom, machte wichtige Barometerbeobachtungen u. Verbesserungen dieses Instruments, nahm aber 1813 seine Entlassung; nachdem er im Krieg 1814 sein ganzes Vermögen verloren hatte, ließ er sich als Maître des requêtes wieder anstellen, wurde 1822 Staatsrath, erhielt 1824 den Abschied u. st. 1827.
