Rantzau, 1) Grafschaft im Herzogthume Holstein, früher reichsunmittelbar u. den Grafen R., jetzt dem Landesherrn gehörig; 4,5 QM., 15,000 Ew., eigne Verwaltung (mit Consistorium u. Propst); wird bewässert von der Aue; 2) Schloß bei Barmstedt, Sitz der Verwaltung.
