Samhāra

Samhāra, Küstenland von Habesch, flach u. sehr heiß, zum Theil im Besitz der Türken, zum Theil bewohnt von einigen unabhängigen, nomadisirenden Volksstämmen, den Schohos, den Danakils u. Hazortas. Die wichtigste Stadt der Landschaft ist Massaua (s.d.).
