Sebastīa

Sebastīa (Sebaste), Stadt in der pontischen Landschaft Kolopena, nahe am Halys, an der Grenze von Kleinarmenien u. Kappadocien, sie hieß früher Megalopolis; in sie führten vier Hauptstraßen. Die verfallenen Mauern ließ Justinian wieder herstellen; j. Ayasch, s.u. Siwas.
