Sextīlis, 1) der sechste Monat, im altrömischen Kalender der August, vom März an gerechnet; auf Vorschlag des Volkstribunen Pacuvius wurde der S. dem Augustus zu Ehren Augustus genannt, vgl. Kalender B) a); 2) (S. radius), so v.w. Gesechstschein, s.u. Aspecten 4).
