Szenta (Zenta), 1) Bezirk im ungarischen Comitat Oberbacs; 2) Marktflecken darin, an der Theiß; Bezirks-, Steuer- u. Postamt, Spital, 2 Kirchen, Viehzucht u. Viehhandel, Fischerei; 16,800 Ew. Hier am 11. Sept. 1697 Sieg der Kaiserlichen unter Prinz Eugen über die Türken.
