Transparent (v. fr., spr. Trangsparang), 1) durchschimmernd, durchscheinend, halbdurchsichtig; 2) ein Gemälde auf, mit Öl getränktes Papier, so daß es, wenn Lichter dahinter gestellt werden, sehr hell erscheint; od. auch eine Vorrichtung, wo man in Pappe od. dünne Breter Buchstaben od. Figuren schneidet, über den leeren Raum buntes od. weißes, in Öl getränktes Papier klebt, auch wohl, wenn Figuren dargestellt werden, dieselben der Natur gemäß ausmalt u. dann das Ganze durch Lichter dahinter erleuchtet; 3) so v.w. Kuchenmuschel.
