Troubadours

Troubadours (spr. Trubaduhr, ital. Trovatori), die Ritterdichter des 12. u. 13. Jahrh. in Südfrankreich u. Nordspanien (während die in[872] Nordfrankreich Trouvères hießen), so genannt von der Kunst ihrer poetischen Erfindungen; auch Provençalen, weil sie bes. in der Provençe blühten. Da die Provençalische Sprache eine romanische war, so hießen sie auch Romanische Dichter; über sie s. Provençalische Literatur S. 651.
