Tuscarawas Rivers u. dem Wolf Creek durchflossen, eine Hochebene, Portland S. genannt, 400 Fuß über dem Spiegel des Erie Sees, umfassend; Boden höchst fruchtbar u. trefflich angebaut; Producte: [89] Weizen, Mais, Hafer, Obst, Rindvieh, Schafe, Steinkohlen; der Pennsylvania Kanal, die Cleveland-Pittsburg Bahn u. die Cleveland-Zanesville Bahn durchschneiden die Grafschaft; 1850: 27,485 Ew., Hauptstadt: Akron; 2) (Summitville), Postort in der Grafschaft Cambria des Staates Pennsylvanien, an der Portage Eisenbahn, welche hier die Alleghanies in mehren Einseukungen, 2500 Fuß über dem Meeresspiegel, durchschneidet; unweit davon führt auch die Pennsylvaniabahn vorüber; 1000 Ew.
