Mataflorida

Mataflorida, Don Bernardo Rosales, Marquis de M., geb. m Andalusien, war Advocat in Sevilla u. als Deputirter für diese Stadt bei den Cortes von 1814, Verfasser der Adresse der Neunundsechzig, in welcher die Abschaffung der Constitution verlangt wurde; diese Adresse, welche mit einem Citat über die Perser begann, gab diesem Deputirten[958] den Spottnamen Perser. M. wurde Marquis, Mitglied der Camarilla u. 1820 Justizminister. Bei Wiedereinführung der Constitution flüchtete er in die Catalonischen Gebirge, stellte sich hier an die Spitze der Apostolischen Partei u. wurde Präsident der Regentschaft von Urgel (Regentschaft des Glaubens). Mit seinen Anhängern zerfallen, trat er von der Präsidentschaft zurück, ging nach Frankreich u. lebte von 1823–24 in Paris, blieb aber einer der Vertrauten Ferdinands VII.
